Duyunov Motors — the 14,700 m² factory in Zelenograd

An asynchronous motor with a winding technology that has been in development since 1995, now produced in a Russian Special Economic Zone resident facility with six years of independent audits on file.

Dmitry Duyunov, an engineer who began work on this problem in 1995, proposed a combination of windings — a parallel connection of star and delta configurations within the same stator — that lets an asynchronous motor reach efficiency classes previously associated only with synchronous motors, while remaining dramatically simpler to manufacture. The company markets the technology under the name Slavyanka.

The commercial vehicle for the technology is OOO Sovelmash, a Russian legal entity registered in 2017 and operating from an SEZ-resident address in Moscow's Zelenograd district. The facility — PKTB — was structurally completed in August 2025. First test production is underway. Serial commercial production is gated by one remaining regulatory document: the operational commissioning permit, pending as of April 2026.

DAT-100L6 · THE FLAGSHIP TRACTION MOTOR

The DAT-100L6 asynchronous traction motor is the public flagship — the model that passed the SERTKOM certification review (decision May 27, 2020, ruling that no separate Customs Union certification is required under TR CU 004/2011). Rated at 2.2 kW / 960 rpm / 22 N·m / IE3–IE4 efficiency class. Mass 30.2 kg. Phase current 120 A / 70 A depending on variant. Power supply 17 V or 29 V.

FIVE PRODUCT LINES

Hand power tools

First angle grinder series built around the Slavyanka motor is in production preparation — full launch tied to the operational commissioning permit.

Traction motors

Designed for electric transport applications, including potential use in light commercial EVs. Flagship model DAT-100L6 — 2.2 kW, 960 rpm, 22 N·m, IE3/IE4 efficiency class, mass 30.2 kg.

Aviation engines

Cross-use case with the AERONOVA program. MAI's turbine engine calculations department is a partner.

Industrial drives

General-purpose industrial installations — pumps, conveyors, compressors. Two oil-gas customers have active working groups (Oct 2025, NDA).

Embedded motors

For integration into customer-designed equipment at OEM level — heavy drones, mobility devices, custom synchronous propulsion.

IN-HOUSE ASYNCHRONOUS-MOTOR CONTROLLER

The second part of vertical integration: Sovelmash has designed, engineered, and produced its own controller for the asynchronous drive in-house. The production unit carries the marking ESC-MIR-A-03. Multilayer power PCB, high-voltage electrolytic capacitors (100 V rated), encoder interface, motor-phase terminals. This closes the propulsion stack: stator winding + controller + mechanical assembly are all designed and made under one roof, with no dependence on imported motor-control silicon for the core function.

APPLICATION · HEAVY QUADCOPTER · ARMY-2024

In August 2024, Sovelmash motors powered a heavy-class quadrotor demonstrator shown at the Army-2024 International Military-Technical Forum at Patriot Expo (next to the Russian Helicopters pavilion). The airframe is an aluminum spaceframe with four lift rotors. A live mock-up was displayed alongside the Sovelmash booth where the motors themselves were presented to the public. The drone carries a suspended payload bay and uses Slavyanka-technology motors with the in-house controller below.

CONSUMER PRODUCT · ANGLE GRINDER (IN PREPARATION)

Serial production of an angle grinder built around the Slavyanka motor is being stood up at PKTB Sovelmash. First commercial batch is planned for the May 2026 window — gated on the operational commissioning permit. The photographs below show the disassembled motor module, the same stator installed inside the consumer-grade plastic housing, the assembled angle-grinder unit, and the manufacturer nameplate carrying the ВДРШ.298135.001ТУ specification code.

COMMERCIAL TRACTION

First confidential commercial contracts were signed in October 2025 (names under NDA). Two oil-and-gas customers have established working groups on potential motor applications. Conversations with potential industrial buyers in India have reportedly reached national leadership level. Further conversations are underway in China and Europe.

The model designation DAT-100L6 is cleared as not requiring separate Customs Union certification under TR CU 004/2011. Reported lab test result for the traction motor: efficiency 80.2% at 9,000 rpm, 1.79 kW (S1 mode, 300 Hz).
